CSA Program

Community Supported Agriculture
(CSA) Program

Overview

Members of Harpke Family Farm’s CSA program pay in advance, before the start of each SEASON, for a share of the farm’s harvest.

In return, members receive a portion of the farm’s yield each week, throughout that period. Community investment gives small farms like ours operating capital and helps us forecast our planting and harvest schedules.

Shareholders not only share the bounty from our urban farm–they also share the risk… If there is a major crop failure (from pests, hurricanes or major freezes), shareholders agree to take the loss alongside the farmer.

To be clear, while we adhere to sustainable, all-natural farming practices, we are not certified organic. We never employ the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Our produce is often of the heirloom variety and always grown from non-treated, non-GMO seed.

Harpke Family Farm is conveniently located in an urban setting, near the intersection I-95 and I-595 (Griffin Road).

Join our CSA and rest assured you will be eating locally farmed, super fresh, sustainably grown, lovingly cultivated, seasonal produce. Not to mention, you’ll be supporting small-scale, hyper-local, urban agriculture-and our labor of love.

If you are new to CSA membership, please note that we are not a supermarket! The fruits and vegetables you receive each week are what’s ripe at that time and optimal for picking, thus you are not able to pick and choose what’s included in your share.

Menu-planning at home may need to be adjusted accordingly, dictated by what is in season in South Florida. Subsequently, you may find yourself becoming more flexible and adventurous with your eating habits.

As we specialize in microgreens (think super tasty mini salad greens), microherbs and young, leafy greens, members can always count on some form of salad greens in their weekly share.

We offer weekly LARGE shares, which usually meet the produce needs for a family of 2-4. For individuals or smaller families who don’t consume lots of produce, we offer a weekly SMALL share. Larger households, juicers, vegetarians or vegans may sign up for more than one share, or multiple families may certainly split shares amongst themselves.
